Opposites

August 25, 2010 | 4 comments

In almost all things, my daughters are as opposite as their favorite pairs of shoes.

Which means things get pretty interesting when they plead their cases to God. They’re like four-foot-tall, dueling prayer warriors attempting to out-pray each other. These days, they’re battling in the spiritual realm over the future growth of our family.

I’m telling the story of Opposites today over at the High Calling Blogs. We’re talking about prayer, and raising kids, and how years slip quietly, and lots more …

(And, yes … I’m just a bit weepy today. My youngest daughter — the one in the sequined shoes — stepped on the bus this morning for her first day of kindergarten.)

I’ll just pull myself together here a minute …

… and then I’ll join you in the conversation over at the High Calling Blogs.

I linked and read. Don't know if my comments registered so I'm leaving them here, too:

This was great, Jennifer. Going to have my wife read it – she'll love it. We have two girls, and they are opposites, just like yours. Keeps life interesting. And I like how you ended the article – "I'm not the tie-breaker." Fortunate we are that God always has the final say. Great post.

Wonderful. Beautiful. What more can I say?

It's hard to know when "you're done" isn't it? Really only God knows. But we seem to have a say as well, don't we? Ultimately, whatever our say, He knows.
