How To Have a Good Morning and Start with Hope

November 14, 2024 | 0 comments

Wondering how to have a good morning, even when life feels heavy or chaotic? You’re not alone — and you’re not without help.

The coffee hasn’t even finished brewing, and already the enemy may be working overtime to sabotage your peace. He plants lies before your feet hit the floor — lies about your worth, your purpose, and your God. But here’s the truth: you really can have a good morning when you start it with the One who made it.

Let’s talk about how.

Why Learning How to Have a Good Morning Matters

The enemy wants to steal your peace before the sun fully rises. He wants to fill your mind with anxious thoughts and convince you that you’re not enough. But that’s not your inheritance.

Your hope doesn’t belong in the hands of a thief — it belongs in the hands of God.

This morning, I read Colossians 3:1-2 in The Message paraphrase, and it hit me fresh. Maybe it’s exactly what you need to hear, too:

“Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective.” — Colossians 3:1-2 MSG

That’s the key to a good morning: looking up.

What Does It Mean to See Things from God’s Perspective?

Let’s be honest — some mornings, we don’t feel strong. We feel scattered, distracted, or overwhelmed. We shuffle into the day with our eyes to the ground.

But Colossians invites us to lift our eyes — to “see things from His perspective.”

That means:

  • Trusting God with the day ahead
  • Releasing control over the things we can’t fix
  • Starting our day with truth instead of lies
  • Refusing to let the enemy narrate our story

This is the real secret to a good morning — not a perfect routine, but a soul anchored in Christ.

How to Have a Good Morning with God: 3 Simple Steps

Want to start fresh tomorrow morning? Here are three practical, grace-filled ways to start your day with God and set a peaceful tone for the hours ahead.

1. Begin with Scripture

Even one verse can change the direction of your morning. Open your Bible or your Bible app and let God’s Word be the first voice you hear. Need a place to start? Try rereading Colossians 3:1–2 and asking, What does God want me to see today?

2. Talk to God Before You Talk to Anyone Else

Before you check your phone or scroll through emails, whisper a prayer:

“Lord, this day is Yours. Help me see it through Your eyes.”
This moment of surrender puts your heart in the right posture and reminds the enemy who’s really in charge.

3. Remind Yourself of the Truth

The enemy deals in lies. God deals in love.
Combat the morning spiral by speaking truth over your soul:

  • “God is with me.”
  • “This day is not a mistake.”
  • “I can trust Him with what I don’t understand.”

Even a few minutes with Jesus can transform your mindset and realign your heart.

You Were Made for Hope-Filled Mornings

There’s a lot of talk about morning routines on TikTok and Instagram, but the best one you can build is rooted in Jesus. Let God be the foundation of your morning. When you start your day with Him, you begin in peace — not pressure.

Here’s the truth:

As long as God keeps waking you up, He has plans for you. He’s been working while you were sleeping. Don’t let fear or fatigue steal what God has for you.

This hope you carry? It’s part of your inheritance.
