For Your Weekend: Faith It Til You Make It
I was an agnostic for years. I had this sense that there was a God, but I couldn’t wrap my mind around whether any of the stuff I read in the Bible was actually true. I wasn’t an unbeliever; I was more like a “wanna-believer,” because I truly did WANT to believe that Jesus was who He said He was.
So I kept learning, studying, exploring, reading. I kept saying prayers that often started like this: “God, if you’re real … God, if you’re there.”
I guess you could say my life was an exercise in “faith it til you make it.”
At my lowest, all I had was a microscopic, smaller-than-a-mustard-seed speck of faith. “Faith it til you make it.”
I had weak and puny prayers. “Faith it til you make it.”
What I didn’t realize then, was this: Even when you lose faith in God, He hasn’t lost faith in you. He simply won’t let go. He loves you too much.
“If we are faithless, he remains faithful” (2 Timothy 2:13).
At some point, I turned around and discovered that “faith it til you make it,” brought me straight into the arms of Jesus. I have known no greater joy in my life. “Faith it til you make it” was my first step toward freedom.
Since then, “Faith it til you make it” has brought me through trying times as a wife and mother.
“Faith it til you make it” has given me the courage to do things I didn’t think I ever could.
“Faith it til you make it” has given me the strength to move through devastating circumstances, and come out on the other side stronger because of Christ.
Maybe you are a “faith it til you make it” girl too. Grab onto that faith — as small as it may feel today — and run toward Jesus. No matter how faithless you feel, HE REMAINS FAITHFUL.

What a forward-looking, easy-to-remember statement: Faith it til you make it! I can become faithless when there seems to be too much to do and not enough time to do it. I KNOW better than to let stress steal my faith, peace, and joy! Slowly I’m learning: 1) Every item on the to-do list is not a life-or-death issue. (DUH!) 2) Prioritize and see what God does with the rest. (There’s the faith part.) 3) Oftentimes he intercedes with cancellations, changes of plans, or other folks to step in and help. I CAN count on my God. HE’s the One who makes sure I make it!

At church, with a dear friend, and now your blog entry–all saying the same thing that faith can ebb and flow. Mine is presently on an ebb. I am not particularly concerned as I know He loves me no matter what and I am His child–100%. His door is always open and I know where it is. I’m faithing it! Thanks for the reminder.
