The Five Words We All Need to Eliminate From Our Vocabulary (#tellhisstory)

July 26, 2016 | 20 comments

When I took my dare toward happiness, I discovered that there are certain words that happy people simply avoid. Those words steal so much happiness in the world.

So I have partnered with (in)courage to identify those words and replace them with words that spread happiness and wholeness.

You’ll get 5 days of emails with encouragement next week, right to your inbox – plus we have a special gift for you at the end, AND you’ll be the first to hear about a special announcement.

Sign up and share with your friends!

Why a Word Swap?

The discovery of God-honoring happiness changes things. When I took my own Happiness  Dare, I quickly learned that the words we choose to speak and believe about ourselves have a tremendous influence on our happiness.

For the past several years, I’ve watched as you poured out your hearts in my comment box. I’ve listened as you’ve shared the false words you’ve believed about yourselves – words that were spoken over you, or words you’ve spoken over yourself. Those words have made many of us the opposite of happy!

Our words have great power. Words can take us prisoner, or they can set us free.

That’s where this five-day challenge comes in.

In our journey toward happiness, we are inviting you to choose the best words to speak over yourselves. We will give you words to empower your soul, and to cultivate your sense of well-being and happiness.

Giveaway

I’d love if you would share this with your friends. The more, the merrier! As an incentive, I’m giving away this canvas from Dayspring.com! Simply sign up for the emails at the link provided, share this post on Facebook, and then let me know if the comments that you did! I’ll draw a winner Friday!

UPDATE: We have a winner. Congratulations, Karrilee!

#TellHisStory

Hey Tell His Story crew! It is a joy to gather here every week with you. The linkup goes live each Tuesday at 4 p.m. (CT). If you would use the badge on your blog, found here, that would be great! And if you would visit at least one other blogger in the link-up and encourage them with a comment, that would be beautiful! Be sure to check the sidebar later. I’ll be featuring one of you over there! Our featured writer this week is Karrilee Aggett. I loved this idea especially – that our failure may be a success to God because we took a risk and tried! Find Karrilee here. To be considered as our featured writer, be sure to use our badge or a link to my blog from your post. 🙂 xo Jennifer

I singed up for the emails…am very excited about getting them. I’m on a FB break, so I can’t do that, but I wanted you to know I’m excited about the emails…and about your book.

I love this idea! Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about the power of words and how they impact the trajectory of our lives. Replacing the negative with the positive- love it.

I love the idea of speaking truth into ourselves and even others. Too much of our time is wasted when we let the lies that are whispered into our ear become the truth we believe. Thank you Jennifer. I signed up and shared on Facebook. 🙂

This is the second time I have read about the power of our words and it is still morning. I know it is important. I am going to celebrate the victories instead of shame myself when I fail, and I think the more I do this and focus on good all around, it is going to help me. I am excited to find out what these words are so signed up and shared on Facebook & Twitter. I love the graphic too – so bright and welcoming!
