Where Your Treasure Is …

treasure, coins, heart, Matthew 6:21

Haiti

Happy weekend, friends.
We’re counting up coins and memories,
a few lost socks, and some new stains on the carpet, and
according to Lydia, too many vexing math problems on her homework.

We’re counting down days to whenever it is we might go to Haiti once again,
God-willing. (We’re dreaming dreams here.)

We’re counting on each other,
on the sun to shine again tomorrow,
on the Holy Spirit’s inner working,
on a truth that sets people free,
and on a cross that trumps everything.

The piggy bank makes my heart ache in its directness. For a child to put money aside for someone else just makes me wanna hug her — and her momma.

    Here’s hoping it happens.

Even that short list of what we can count on is enough to pump up the perseverance and faith for another day. And as I mentally add to the list…oh my! We have so many “givens” to lean on for support. Thank you, Jennifer, for your inspiration.
