St. Polly Pocket’s House of Worship

They say you learn everything you need to know in kindergarten. I guess I was snoozing on my napping-mat when they taught some of the most important lessons.

Thankfully, God gave me a kindergartener, my daughter, to help me sort out the most important stuff. Today, I’m celebrating my newfound knowledge — and my 39th birthday! — over at Duane Scott’s blog, Scribing the Journey.

Duane is a fellow Midwesterner. We met through The High Calling network, an online community where we daily discuss how God is working in all areas of our lives: our workplaces, our homes, our play, our art.

Because we met through The High Calling, we thought it fitting to share thoughts on what “high calling” means to us. Will you join me there today? (And the real treat comes on Friday, when Duane guest-posts here!)

Additionally, as a contributing editor for The High Calling, I want to share some news with you (including a writing opportunity). The High Calling has an affiliated site, the Laity Lodge Family Camp blog. My friend, Tina Howard, blogs there about great ideas for families. If you’re a part of TheHighCalling.org network, she might feature your posts, related to family topics.

(To be eligible for possible feature at the site, consider joining The High Calling network.)

Anna clearly knew the size of the cup He'd be asking to have pass from him. What a sense of scale she has…

Happy birthday, my friend. And stay warm.

Don't kids teach us all of life's most important lessons?

Um, okay. Polly Pocket Jesus? That's about like my "Bouncy Jesus" (bobble-body Jesus, that is).

Can't wait to pop over and read your other post. And thanks for the shout out today over here!
