I’ll Be a Fool

April 16, 2010 | 15 comments

I want to be the one named Unashamed.
I want to silence stones.
I want to make praise my first reaction, not my required Sunday morning response.

I want to worship.

“Worship, I say, rises or falls with our concept of God …. and if there is one terrible disease in the Church of Christ, it is that we do not see God as great as He is.” — A.W. Tozer

Oh Father, Let not your Church slumber like a sleeping giant. Awaken our souls, Lord, to worship you with unrestrained praise. If they call us fools, Lord, let us be known as fools for Christ until the whole world hears.

Light of the World, Here I am to worship.

And all the fools said, … Amen.

So true! We are all so worried about everything else and everyone else. How many people in that audience were thinking how weird that guy looks, but really, they were missing out on everything he was experiencing!

Oh Jennifer! You gave me chills on this one! I see you must have made it to a Casting Crowns concert recently! They came to Hershey PA about a month ago and let me say it really was an eye opener to me and dear hubby!

We left knowing that we do not honor him with our life and our praises like we should…we do not make Him big enough…worthy enough all because we may worry about what others think…

I did leave refreshed in my thinking and in my view of our Precious Savior. I belong to a very small church, one that is primarily older…they are set in their thinking and ways ( which I can appreciate too) I just don't want it to influence who God desires me to be.

Thanks so much for your open and honest posts!

P.S. Are you still running in May? I hope you are doing better with your injury. 🙂

Amen to that! Less self-consciousness and more God-consciousness. I say "Yes Lord."

I want to be that fool for Christ! Our church is very conservative. I am a bit more freer in my worship. I love to raise my hands. I used to worry because I was the only one, now every now and then, I see someone else do it. I love how catching worship can be.

Very poignant picture! Sad, but poignant.

It's amazing how incredibly self-conscious I can be when in a crowd. You'd think I'd just be able to disappear as another face in the crowd. It can be rather overwhelming sometimes. Anyway, I really love your blog! :o)

Casting Crowns…one of my favorite groups!!! I wish they would make a stop in Detroit. I have seen Newsboys and Third Day…both really EXCELLANT as well!! I hope you had a great time!! You are one person who is casting her net to spread the grace, the hope, the greatness and the love of Christ. Thank you.
