God-Bumps & God-Incidences: Birthday Surprise

January 10, 2012 | 9 comments

I turn 40 next month, the official gateway to a place called “over the hill.”

I’ve got 40 candles on my cake over at TheHighCalling.org today. Join me there? (Click here…)

We write in community every Wednesday about the God-Things that make you go, “Hmmm…”

Some call them coincidences. We call them God-incidences. And those goosebumps you get sometimes when you know the Holy Spirit is at work? Yep. They’re God-Bumps.

Want to join the chorus of words for our God? Pick either button, found here, attach it to your post, and tell your story. Then, link up with the weekly post on the Getting Down With Jesus home page!

Happy Birthday, beautiful Jennifer!!! I think women are their most beautiful in their 40s – truly. I’m looking forward to reading your “birthday surprise” story.

Have a great day filled with “Hmmm…” XO

On the God-bumps thing, I have one, but not for a post. Deidra called me on Sunday because I left a rather desperate comment on her blog. She called just after my husband and son left for an errand. Just as she and I were saying goodbye, the boys pulled back into the driveway. Those 26 minutes were God’s little gift.

Not sure whether to comment here or over at High Calling. Pretty neat how God directs our lives and we end up in places we never dreamed we’d be. Hope you have a great birthday.

It seems that each decade is a milestone. I reflected back over the years when I turned over the last one!!! Lots of memories and times of blessing along with frustration and heartache. We are in His hands and there is a LOT of ministry ahead for YOU!

You are so going to love 40. Trust me :). Such good things waiting for you there. As for me, feeling a bit vulnerable about this one. Sort of a response to a conversation earlier this week. Trying to be very careful who I let judge me these day. 🙂

    Love you.

Happy soon birthday. I remember my 40th. I was given a surprise party, but my entire circle of friends and family had the flu, so about 4 people came. It was kinda depressing at the time, but it’s funny now.
