Don’t Give Up (A November to Remember — 11.16.2014)

Today’s Scripture — 11.16.2014

In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 1:4-6

Hey friend,

You’ve been working hard, haven’t you?

It’s Sunday, and you truly want to rest today, but you can’t stop thinking about how much you’ve got to accomplish. God started something in you, but the finish line is nowhere in sight.

Maybe you want to stop at the side of the road, stick out your thumb, and hitch a ride back to town.

Don’t do it.

Keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Remember: you’re in the middle.

It’s not over yet, but it will be. And this road has a real finish line, a God-ordained ending.

This road is not for the faint of heart. The middle is always the hardest. But do not be afraid. If God started it, He will see it through to the end. That’s His promise.

This Sunday, rest in this promise: He who began this good work in you, will carry it on to completion.

Living PreApproved,
Jennifer

This post is part of our month-long series, “A November to Remember: Seeing Yourself Through God’s Eyes.

How You Can Be a Part of This Movement:

1 – Print out the Scripture sheets. (Click here for printable versions.) Each of the 30 daily Scriptures are quoted in Love Idol, and each one ties back in some way to our identity in Christ. (You don’t have to read the book to participate in this study. But of course, you’re welcome to!

:)
 )

2 – Find the passage assigned for today’s date.

3 – Consider how God is speaking to you. How does the verse help you remember who you really are, outside of all the cultural noise?

4 – Visit us on the blog, or the Love Idol movement page on Facebook, to share what the verse means to you.

5 – Share your insights on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or your blog, to add more soul to your scroll. #MoreSoulLessScroll

:)
Tag me, so I can find you. (Or feel free to follow along silently! No social-media presence required.)

I’ll post my own response here on the blog every morning at 5 a.m. Sometimes, you’ll find a story, maybe a few short words, maybe a series of photos. That will happen every day, for all of November, God-willing.

LOVE these words: “This road is not for the faint of heart.” I shall remember them, especially when I want to encourage someone else in the journey…like my daughter. She has endured much, yet she knows in Whom she has believed. She is stronger than she believes herself to be. We all are, because our strength comes from Him, amen? He IS faithful to complete what He has begun in us.

Thank you, Jennifer, for this insight: “The middle is always the hardest.” Hadn’t given much thought to the differences between beginnings, middles, and ends. But it’s true. At the start, we’re full of hope, energy, and positivity. At the end we’re exuberant and fulfilled. But the middle? That’s where faith is tested and perseverance is required. Thank you also for these uplifting words: “If God started it, He will see it through to the end.” That news alone should help us press on!
