Three

For Christians, there’s deep meaning in three.

Three days in the belly of a fish.

Daniel’s prayers, three times a day.

Three crosses on a hill.

Rising from the grave … on Day Three.

In One, are Three.

I love three.

And for the next three days, I won’t be here, at Getting Down With Jesus.

Because, for three days, I am attending a retreat called Cursillo — dubbed appropriately “Three Days That Last a Lifetime.” I first attended about four years ago, and I experienced deep spiritual renewal. Ever since then, I return (three times a year) to serve the Lord while others come to this beautiful Iowa hillside to experience this deeply meaningful encounter with God.

Before I attended for the first time, a friend told me, “Jennifer, it’s as if God is close enough that you could reach out and touch him.”

Another told me, it’s like a vacation with Jesus.

They were both right. So today, I’m leaving once again for a three-day working vacation with Jesus.

We’ll see you in Three

I see know way possible that you could be as blessed as I was for having served last weekend – but give it a whirl! Let the grace, peace and love our Christ, Jesus; God the Father; and the Holy Spirit, our friend, engulf you these next three days.

Looking forward to hearing and reading what comes out of your weekend.

My folks give it MAJOR credit (along with Marriage Encounter, marvelous friends and family, a heck of a lot of luck, and, of course, their daily decisions to love and forgive) for their 40+ years of blessed union, mostly happy, and full of unconditional love.

That’s so great you do that.

    Hope you enjoy vacation! 🙂
