The PreApproved Sisterhood at Women of Faith

March 13, 2015 | 6 comments

I don’t know how many years ago I attended my first Women of Faith conference. I know it was clear back when I had one of those flip phones with the antenna. But I didn’t have texting yet. So I took my phone up to the top seats of the arena. I needed a quiet place to call home to my husband. I wanted to see what he thought about sponsoring a child from Compassion International. That was the first of many children we now sponsor.

Those were tender years. Those were the years when Jesus began to really grab hold of my heart. Those were the years when the Lord began to pull me out of that thick soup of doubt in which I was swimming, barely able to stay afloat. More than once, women like Patsy Clairmont, Luci Swindoll, Marilyn Meberg, Thelma Wells and Sheila Walsh threw me a proverbial rope from the stage. I always left Women of Faith feeling changed and loved.

So I was sort of sad and sentimental when I learned that this year’s Women of Faith would be the last. But I was delighted when I heard the theme: LOVED.

Women of Faith is holding nothing back in letting women know they are seen, known and free. That message has been my heart’s cry for years on this blog, and in my book. Living loved and preapproved is my, well, …. my love language. It’s where I want to live — in love.

So, I was thrilled and surprised when Women of Faith asked if they could run an excerpt of Love Idol this week on their blog.  Take a peek at us over there at Women of Faith, would you? The PreApproved sisterhood is hanging out under the Women of Faith banner! How fun is that?

I hope you’ll go check the post out.  You can find it by clicking here.

The post reminds us of this truth: In a world that shouts “climb higher,” followers of Jesus bow lower.

I have never attended a Women of Faith event, but have a friend who goes regularly. Congratulations on being featured at their site. I know many women will be blessed by you.

Oh yes, I remember WOF days when I was living in Atlanta. It was awesome! It’s been a few years since I’ve attended one but find it as an awesome way to introduce new believers to great Christian speakers. So neat that Love Idol is on their site right now!

Distance is always a factor for me in the world of conferences (Maine to anywhere is long!), but I gain what I can through reading and following some amazing blogs. Glad to know that you’ll be featured at WOF. Blessings on your day.

I was just thinking about going to a conference. I’ve never been, and now I have to laugh because it seems I’m always late to the boat. HA! Thanks for the coupon. I’m going to check it out. I’m so happy they’re featuring an excerpt from your book. Every woman needs to read it.

Congratulations, Jennifer. So thrilled, Jennifer, that the pre-approved love message is being shared in the big arena. But wow. I’m so sad about WOF. I’d not heard this. I just presumed it would be around forever. I’d love to go one more time. Some things just should never end.

That is so neat, congratulations! Last year I attended my first Women of Faith conference in Lincoln, Nebraska. Everyone had told me how wonderful it would be, but they couldn’t explain it. Afterwards, I understood why. The conference has a way of touching your heart in such a deeply personal way. No wonder they couldn’t find a simple way to explain that! I already have my ticket for this year’s conference. So neat that the focus for their final tour is love!
