melting ice, sunset

Happy Sunday, friends. A snowstorm is headed our way, so we’re tucked in warm here. If you live in a region with snow, what’s your favorite way to spend a “snow day?”

WHat a beautiful translation, Jennifer! Thank you for sharing it. I love the snow from the inside! I love nothing more than to look out on all the frost-feathered wonder from a warm, snuggly vantage point. with a fire flaming in the heart and sipping piping tea…..maybe reading a book, listening to Baroque, or playing the piano. I used to have to head out into the tundra in snowstorms when my USO volunteers didn’t show up on their midnight shift so we could keep the agency open for all the military and their families. As director (like a postman, neither rain nor sleet nor snow nor hail kept me from my appointed round! 🙂 Ever since I left that job I have welcomed the snow, because someone else has to go to the USO! 🙂 I hope that you are safe and sound and enjoying the warmth of each other’s company in Iowa on a snowy night! Maybe Lydia can write about it!

Happy Sunday Friend! Love the new look and the same beautiful heart behind it!
I live in Southern California so… we don’t have many “snow days” here. 🙂 Showers of blessings to you in this exciting new season!!

I’m gonna have to figure out a way of not having to sign in here every time I want to make a comment.
    I’ll work on that.

As a career teacher, I used to love snow days — FREE DAYS. My favorite words used to come over the radio as the announcer said, “Schools are closed!”

Then, I used to get up early anyway, fix a gargantuan amount of coffee, pick up my favorite afghan, and watch numbing television — like old sitcoms — I Love Lucy, Bewitched, Andy Griffith.

There was something so beautiful about a whole day with no things that had to be done. *ponders*

I love the snow!! Go out in it and ride the sleds down the hill or stay inside and enjoy some hot chocolate and a good movie, whichever way I’m enjoying it, I’m happy Sadly we’re in this little circle in the great Iowa country side that is showing more of an affinity for mud than anything else this winter. Though today we’re enjoying some crazy winds and the mud is once again in a semi-solid state…for now.

Love your new digs. If it were snowing right now, I would grab a cup of hot tea, sit by the window and watch my world transform before my eyes. Since, it’s not I will grab a few minutes to myself after a picnic at the park with my granddaughters. And I think I will still have that tea. 🙂
