The Work My Kids Will Never Learn From Their Mother
Do you ever wonder if you’re teaching your children enough about this curious, delightful world that we live and work in? Do you look at your own abilities, and wonder what worthwhile skills you’re passing down to the next generation?
Today, at The High Calling, I’m sharing a story entitled: “The Work My Kids Will Never Learn from Their Mother.”
And guess who contributed the photo for our Wednesday post at The High Calling? Miss Lydia Lee!

I posted over at Higher Calling, but gotta tell you: The picture of your two funny girls here is priceless and precious! Hmmmm…wonder who they take after here–you or their dad?! =]
Love the photo! Thanks for hosting the linkup, & God bless!
Hey, I’m so happy to be linking back up with you again- I’ve been “off track” this summer and we are getting our life back into a routine
Good day Jennifer…and good post. I so relate to what you’re expressing here. I was never very good at passing along skills to my daughter. Nor my husband to our son, come to think of it. All I really enjoyed doing was reading, writing, playing at calligraphy—that was about it. My girl, now 26, (and I kid you not about this) self-taught herself guitar, knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, and her latest venture…sewing! Through her, I’ve come to believe that, not only is the sky her limit, but also that a child will pursue what interests them, and they’ll give it their all if they enjoy it. She gives everything she does, her all. My dear Mom was like that—she could do anything she set her mind and hand to do. Mayhaps these things sometimes skip a generation???
Love your girls ‘goofy’ photo!
It’s awesome what all you are teaching your girls. She can learn to crochet on YouTube. To see God in the beauty of a simple dandelion? No ‘How To’ video can do that.
