Same Blog, New Clothes

October 7, 2008 | 7 comments

I’m a T-shirts and sweatpants kind of girl. I have no problem wearing my sushi-print pajamas until 2 in the afternoon.

But when it comes to my blog, I was looking for fashionable and hip … at a Target price, of course.

So, here you have it. Same blog, new clothes. (At discount prices!)

The kind, talented (and insanely reasonably-priced) folks at Tekeme Studios designed this new look for my blog. We went “live” tonight, though I’m still working out a few kinks. (The kinks are attributed to my ineptitude, not theirs.)

The designers asked how I wanted this blog to look. I told them I wanted visitors to see something “a little unexpected. Because God … does all sorts of unexpected things. Being a Christian isn’t a thing we do just on Sundays, and church isn’t something that just happens at the altar, and grace abounds everywhere – sometimes where we least expect it. I want visitors to this blog to feel uplifted and encouraged … and to leave with a smile.”

One of my favorite parts about the design is the photo (above). For most of my life, I viewed God as a faraway God, and Jesus as fairy-tale material. He is, of course, neither. He is as close as my heartbeat. He is, first and foremost, my Savior. But He is also my friend — someone with whom I tell my secrets, share my dreams, cry … and have a good laugh.

Be blessed, frassy friends!

Hey, the new digs are GREAT. Of course, I just found you today via Higher Calling, so I didn’t know your old look, but I do like this one.

Love the premise of your blog. I am adding you to my list of reads!
